5 Beach Activities for Kids

With the Summer holidays stretching out in front of us, and warm weather set to make an appearance, planning out some fun beach activities for the kids can save time, money and effort. The most fun can be had at the beach with with no or very little equipment. We've put together some of our favourite ideas for fun beach activities for the kids this Summer:

1. Frisbee.

Frisbee is a classic activity for the beach. Remember to use a Frisbee which is age-appropriate. It is easier to catch a Frisbee when it is larger and softer.

2. Bat and Ball.

Bat and Ball absolutely deserves a space right here for the amount of fun it creates. A game appropriate for all ages, opt to play with siblings, parents, grandparents or of course friends. Depending on age you can even play in the sea!

3. Bucket and Spade.

Don't forget your bucket and spade for building and constructing the ultimate sandy masterpieces.

The little ones can also use their bucket to collect the treasures they find on the beach. Exploring the beach to find the most interesting pebbles and shells can be a fun and relaxing activity that helps little ones engage with their environment!

Shop this Bucket, Spade and Toy Set from Calla & Friends. All of the pieces are soft and flexible, yet incredibly durable non-toxic, food grade silicone. No more worries about cracked toys or the toxins of plastic.

4. Water Racing

Place a bucket down away from the sea. Challenge the kids to scoop up a beaker of water from the sea and transport it to the bucket as fast as possible. Depending on age and ability, you can customise how difficult you make the journey. Whoever can get the most water into the empty bucket without spilling is the winner!

5. Sand Writing.

Writing in the sand is such a fun way of practicing writing and fine motor skills; and can also act as a great sensory activity.

You could also write large letters in the sand and play a game where you call out words, and you run to the letter that the word begins with!

Don't forget your LHW hat!
