Top 5 kids garden activities!
The Cub Hat with Neck Flaps in bugs
When the sun is shining, there's nothing better than getting out in the garden and playing with the little ones. We've put together a list of our top 5 activities that can be done with minimal set up, money and time. These activities can be enjoyed by ages two and up. Enjoy, and don't forget to put your hat on!
1. Garden Art Attack
Remember Neil Buchannan, the ultimate kids art TV programme? Your kids probably won’t, so pinch his ideas and create an art attack in the garden, making pictures from twigs, stones, grass and an old tennis ball you’d forgotten all about. Bonus points if you can recreate Munch’s The Scream with gravel.

2. Teddy Bears Picnic
The wholesome childhood activity so good they wrote a song about it. All you need is a picnic blanket, a range of your nearest and dearest soft toys (my choice is my old Tartan touting hedgehog called MacTavish, incase you were wondering), pour them a cup of imaginary tea and away you go!
3. DIY Bubbles
Blowing bubbles is surprisingly easy to DIY and great fun for everyone. All you need is a washing up bowl of water, some washing up liquid and a teaspoon of cooking oil. Fashion a bubble wand out of pipe cleaners or a cut up pop bottle and Bob’s your uncle.

4. Tree Bark Rubbings
Collecting leaves, pebbles and other garden detritus is a nice but ultimately messy activity: remember the wildlife around you by making rubbings of tree bark and leaves. Take a piece of paper, pop it over the surface you want to make a rubbing of, and gently rub with a crayon. It gives children a chance to enjoy the different textures of nature, and is perfect to put in a scrapbook.

5. Easy DIY Bird Feeder
A home made bird feeder not only acts as a nice activity, it also encourages birds into your garden for the kids to spot and identify. Soon enough you’ll know your pigeon from your pied flycatcher (no, me neither). To make the bird feeder, take a toilet roll cover or pine cone in peanut butter and roll in bird feed. Pop a string through, and tie to a tree or fence.
