Things to do between Christmas and New Year!

There are always those few days when finding things to do between Christmas and New Year seems to be difficult. It’s that strange time when you’re never quite sure what day of the week it is, what you’re supposed to be doing or what a routine ever felt like!! Also known as the "Chrimbo Limbo" 😄

There's still lots of time before the kids go back to school... so here are a couple of our fave magical, adventures you can enjoy with your little ones between Christmas and New Year:

A Christmas Lights Walk

Take a stroll around the neighbourhood to enjoy all the twinkling lights and festive decorations!

Have a treasure hunt! 🪙

With lots of chocolate left from Christmas what better way to use it up before the New Year with a treasure hunt! Have fun coming up with clues and hiding spots around the house and garden for the kids to find.

Go for a Winter walk 🚶🏻‍♀️

Take the little ones to your local woods for a day of walking and exploring (don't forget your LHW hat and hot chocolate!!) Give them things to do such as spotting a large leaf, finding an acorn and send them on a search to find the strangest shaped branch.

DIY Nature Hunt!

Bundle up and search for pinecones, berries, or other seasonal wonders outdoors.

Get crafty!

Keep the wrapping paper and empty boxes from Christmas Day and let the little ones to get creative! You can also look at making DIY thank you cards for all the friends and family that gave you Christmas gifts.

Holiday Movie Marathon

Create a cosy movie night with Christmas classics and popcorn!

Pinecone Hedgehogs!

Take a wintery walk and look for pinecones. Add glitter and glue bead for eyes. Perfect for tree decorations and little animal games.

Go for a family bike ride 🚲

Cycling is a great way to spend time together as a family whilst also improving the children's motor skills, balance, strength and coordination. Take a trip to the local park or forest and let them pedal away!

Go to an adventure playground 👣

Keep the little ones busy by taking them to your nearest adventure playground. Playgrounds provide many learning opportunities for the kids and allow them to practice skills such as balance, hand eye coordination and problem solving. They will have a super fun time exploring and creating their own adventures!

Snow Day Fun!

If the snow falls, it's the perfect time for a snowball fight, sledding or building snowmen!

Go Ice Skating ⛸️

With the Christmas Markets and outdoor Ice Rinks still on between Christmas and New Year, Ice Skating is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy. Head to your local or why not venture out and try something new?
